Friend of Strath Jonathan Auerbach Offers Matching Grant to Augment Strath’s 2008 Annual Fund

Recognizing Strathmore’s potential to support Kenya’s recovery after the post-election violence, Jonathan Auerbach of New York,  a Friend of Strathmore in the US, has offered a matching grant donation that will double the funds raised by Strathmore from its alumni.

What is a “matching grant?”

This Friend will match dollar for dollar, shilling for shilling every donation any Strathmore alumnus makes this year to the Strathmore New Kenya Annual Fund.

How does this work?

If you as a Strath alumnus donate $10 to our fund, our Friend will donate $10. If you donate $100, he’ll donate $100. If you donate KSh 1000, he’ll donate the equivalent of KSh1000.

Why is our Friend of Strathmore doing this?

Impressed with Strathmore and its alumni he wishes to help Strathmore serve Kenya more through its distinctive network. He wants us to expand our network and to increase alumni support for Strathmore–and Kenya. He wants to encourage widespread participation and support, especially through smaller donations by many people.

What do we need to do?

We need to connect with more Strathmore Alumni. And we need to get them to participate in the Annual Fund, in whatever amount large or small. Participation in the key point. The more who participate, the more we can benefit from this matching grant.
