The University’s Crest contains a lion to represent Kenya, a rose to represent love (the source of all good desires and actions), and three hearts for each of the races in Kenya (African, Asian, and European) which were segregated in society at the time of founding but integrated at Strathmore from its beginning.

Underscoring its commitment to diversity and respect for the individual, the University’s Latin motto means “That all may be one”.
